Frankie Dettori started the New Year at the London Sporting Club in the best possible fashion by entertaining another packed dining room at our City Club with an often amusing and always honest account of his life story The most popular and one of the most successful jockeys of all time shared his secrets of success as well as his many highs and lows throughout a 30 year career in the saddle, keeping the audience of members and guests transfixed. The former world and European 400m relay champion Derek Redmond and former Commonwealth heptathlon champion Louise Hazel also came along to speak, as did Alison Baum, CEO of Best Beginnings, who gave an impassioned speech about the great work her charity does. The London Sporting Club thanks them all, especially Frankie who made a whole set of new friends and admirers thanks to his personable and amenable nature throughout the lunch. Thanks to Jura Coffee Products" too for providing and serving the amazing coffee.
