The LSC enjoyed a stunning inaugural golf day yesterday at the sensational Centurion Golf Club near St Albans, the home of the Golf Sixes.
On a beautiful early autumn day eleven teams captained by eleven celebrities played it out to win the coveted London Sporting Club Golf Classic trophy, courtesy of our friends from Thomas Lyte. The celebrities were Sir Steve Redgrave, Sir Matthew Pinsent, Barry McGuigan, Mark Foster, Kriss Akabusi,John Regis, Alan Pardew, Darren Anderton, Tim Sherwood and singer Ronan Keating.
Afterwards, over a sumptuous, three course dinner cooked by the Michelin two-starred Galvin Brothers inside the Centurion clubhouse, the celebrities treated us all to some stories, and the presentations were made. The first winners were Placid Gonzales Associates, with team captain Alan Pardew, the former Reading, Charlton, Newcastle, Southampton, West Ham and Palace boss, delighted to have won his first ever golf day trophy.
